i agree also, starowl. and let me say right away that i am not in any sense opposed to change. nothing about change disturbs me or frightens me. that having been said, i think that the appearance of the beta version is cluttered, unoriginal, and without distinction. piling on features and drop down menus and folders and options and frames and toolbar customizations is just that... piling on. as you indicated with your "sigh", i too am saddened that this change has to take place. there is a lot to be said for being streamlined. and for not running full tilt after the new and improved brass ring. when i hear the current SI format referred to as original, i can't think of a better description. the beta version? definitely a "project" created by a "committee". and we all know the definition of a committee... that place where ideas go to die. wish it wasn't so. :) mark
