Traditional phone companies are not building broadband systems in the way that the cable TV companies are building...but a phone company with a new type of orientation might build.. USWest does a lot of things wrong, but that's not one of them. They've been the most aggressive RBOC in rolling out DSL: megaspeed.com Having divested MediaOne at a nice premium for their shareholders, USWest also seems to be slowly getting back into that business in some way with video trials in at least one city. I suspect that that's one of the things that makes USW attractive to QWST.
