Jenna-- Those are some good points about shorting, especially about not bashing the stock. When shorting, we have to keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with the stock (unless it is a scam) and there is nothing inherently wrong with shorting. It is a trader's tool, another instrument for making $$$. Shorting adds liquidity to the market, keeps the markets volatile. I have been trading for a year and started shorting stocks after 2months. At first I lost my shirt, but after 20 trades or so, you learn different techniques, patterns, etc. I have many examples of what to do and what not to do. Maybe I can share them sometime, if you like. Right now, shorting makes up about 30% of my trades. Yesterday, I did 9 trades, 8 shorts and 1 long. 7 of the trades were profitable, and the biggest loss came from the long trade.

Regards,

RB
