G'day all - 1st, adv apology as I ve not followed this tract of discussion too closely, so please pardon any inadvertent rehash or digression
I believe the names of Messrs Greenspan and Soros have come up. 1st, I am a great fan of Mr Greenspan. Regarding Soros, I m neutral, as I do not know him enough. However, he is certainly an enigma. For someone who has such a philanthropic slant, he has mentioned on 60 Minutes that his investment decisions are essentially amoral [my word, but I think close enough.] In a way, that may throw a curve at people. OTOH, unlike the industrial titans of the turn of the century who used the Spenserian philosophy to justify their behaviour, at least he didn't try to rationalize his. I suspect some people also react strongly to the tidbit of his life as a teenager in wartime Nazi Europe, during which he assumed a non Jewish identity. Personally, I'd rather refrain quick judgement.
hope this help
