Found this on RB a few minutes ago:

good news for us longs, i hope. i grabbed this from the astn board but it applies to msgi as well since it is also being added to the russell 3000:

"I spoke with Steve Claiborne @ Russell Index @ 8PM EST today. The official notice on all additions will be posted tomorrow @ 3pm EST. You can call (253)594-1858.
According to Steve the criteria for listing is a market cap of no more than $1.3 Billion and no less than $160 million as of June 1. The Russell 3000 has $86 Billion indexed against it, the Russell 2000 has $12 Billion. Ashton would be added to both. The fact is if Ashton made it through the first two phases and maintained the Market Cap requirements it most likely has been added.
Here is the good part. The Funds that are part of the Index get thier notice two days prior. Some will gamble and buy in when they see the the preliminary list. But most of the buying occurs on and after the official list is posted. Why? Because like most Index Funds there are investors and Money Managers that will replicate the Index.
Most of the buying we have witnessed the past two days is outside buying from those funds notified. The bulk of the buying should come in tomorrow and continue strong after 3PM EST. $98 Billion between both the 3000 & 2000 is alot of managed money. When these funds buy into the additions the stock will be locked away from the float thus decreasing the trading size of the float. Simple supply and demand tells us that with less supply and more demand we should see a steady upside surge in ATGs' stock price which would inevitably lead to a split in the stock.
Tell me something, are we in the right place at the right time or what? This is the type of DD I like. For the Blitzs', Smokoys, Camals, & Pigs I can only say I hope its all been just fun and games from you because this is where Right benefit and the Wrong get hurt...NHP81"
