John, <How often will data rates like these ever be an issue, given the much slower disc head seek times?> Actually, with six SCSI UW2 drives AND good operating system supporting SCSI disconnect/reconnect protocol and enough memory to hold a good-size disk cache, the data stream can be distributed evenly over the slow heads. So you can keep the PCI bus that busy. Ali
