Not OT-- codawg, it appears Toy has become a thorn here, but your remarks, too, are quite biased in nature.
<<If someone wants to invest in NOVL then go ahead. If they think they can make a convincing comparison to MSFT then they are a fool. As you point out, NOVLs market cap is roughly one 45th of MSFTs so the stock will need to outperform for quite a bit longer before the comparisons are meaningful.>>
Since this is a MSFT board, convince me that Windows2000, and Active Directory are going to be the keys to MSFT moving into the enterprise scale area of NOS, with robust directory functionality. This is the crux of the comparison between NOVL (NW5, NDS8, + ZENs) and MSFT's upcoming product, not market cap as you point out, as MSFT "is" the desktop, without argument. All I will say is that in the directory services and applications market, along with caching software, Novell will shine. I dare you to provide me with the links, comparisons, and reports to prove me a fool. That said, your list of favorite stocks is excellent and a great long term portfolio for wealth building.
