RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1999--eduverse.com(TM), (OTC BB:EDUV), today announced its wholly owned subsidiary EDUVERSE Accelerated Learning Systems (Canada), Inc. has reached an agreement with the Ministry of University Affairs in Thailand to provide English language instruction to university and technical school students.
Implementation of EDUVERSE's e-education initiative will result in the installation of the company's ENGLISH PRO language instructional software on over 70,000 workstations currently within Thailand's University Network (UniNet).
UniNet currently supports approximately one million students in 24 public universities and 37 Information Technology campuses throughout the country. Students will spend a minimum of two 30-minute study sessions per week practicing their English pronunciation using ENGLISH PRO. Each week the ENGLISH PRO audience will view 240 million banner advertisements.
On July 15, 1999, the agreement with the Ministry of University Affairs will be signed during an official ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand. Attending the ceremony will be the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of University Affairs of Thailand, the Canadian Ambassador to Thailand and various government dignitaries from both Canada and Thailand.
Guest speakers will include the above dignitaries and Dr. E.W. Roberts, Professor of Linguistics, Simon Fraser University, Canada. Over 150 special guests, including prominent educators, have been invited to observe the signing and participate in an eduverse.com technology workshop.
