In USAToday there is an article titled: Web growth outpacing search power By Mike Snider, USA TODAY ************** an excerpt ************ Internet search services can't keep up with the rapidly expanding Web and check at most only one of every six pages, a study in Thursday's journal Nature says. "What's declining is the volume of information you can efficiently search related to the volume of information on the Web," says Steve Lawrence of NEC Research Institute. Search sites are not deliberately ignoring parts of the Web, the study says. New sites can ask to be listed in the engine databases, and each site has programs that seek out new sites and pages.
