I don't put much store in Ben's chart because it doesn't actually break out the contract sales by sale price only by strike price. For example the 30 must have been sold in its low volumes for mostly less than a half point whereas the 25's were possibly sold mostly in the $2 range. That is my intuitive guess. So a real analysis would figure out at what real price the writers have sold the most calls. They would then have to move the stock below that price (if they can) to inflict the most pain.

My guess is that they can't get close enough to 25 to avoid taking a bath and for someone who phlebotomizes (writes contracts), taking a bath every three or four expirations probably helps to remove some of the odor associated with the hits and misses of the profession.
