MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1999--CIS.com Inc. (OTC BB:CISI)
announced today that a preview of its DemoMall at ecismall.com is
now online.
CIS.com Inc. delayed opening DemoMall due to the Independence Day
Holiday. During this time, Carlton A. Glassford, the design engineer
behind the multi-online malls project, changed and upgraded the
contents of the demo stores.
DemoMall is a demonstration mall designed to show retailers how
they can benefit by owning a secure online shopping center of their
own at ecismall.
Originally, the DemoMall was to only consist of a few products
and a couple of small store designs in order to demonstrate how the
secure order processing works and to give them a glimpse of the
easy-to-use collapsible menus.
Glassford stated: "We were ready to go online with DemoMall at
month's end as scheduled. We were notified that the unveiling of
DemoMall wasn't going to be until after the 4th. The additional time
was used to upgrade and add two totally different stores which
resulted in a longer delay than anticipated."
CIS.com, Inc. now offers its first online product, it's called
the E-Shirt. The E-Shirt is used in DemoMall to demonstrate how other
retailers with only one product can benefit by having their own store
at ecismall.
DemoMall is currently two stores for demonstration purposes with
real items for sale. The first store demonstrates how retailers with a
single product can benefit by selling one product online in a secure
shopping environment. The second store demonstrates how retailers with
a single line of multiple products of the same type or group can
benefit by having a secure online store at ecismall. This store uses a
single category and multiple versions of the same type of product.
Glassford added: "We wanted to incorporate CIS somewhere in the
name of the mall, so we came up with ecismall.com which stands for
E-Commerce Internet Shopping Mall. ecismall.com is a product of
CIS.com Inc."
A Hot Wheels Collectibles Store and Online Hobby Shop will soon
be added to the DemoMall.
Prices for mall space will vary depending upon the amount of
design work and space needed for each store, services provided, and
the types of maintenance a retailer may want or need. Stores may be
hosted at ecismall or may be linked to an existing site and will be
included in our mall directory.
