See 4/7/99 article at thestreet.com, on the subject of
where jagnotes gets their info. They are very legit.
I've followed them a bit since they brought their
newsletter to the web earlier this year, after having
been in circulation for about a decade I think. They are
very good at uncovering frontrunning news, and have Dan
Dorfman, and recently added Elaine Garzarelli, reporting
(for what they're worth). For more info see JNOT board
here at SI---their stock went on quite a tear itself
earlier this year. Also you can get a trial
subscription free from them at jagnotes.com

Re: NITE's future, don't Goldman Sachs and Etrade already
own a substantial portion of NITE? With EGRP's
escalating market cap, and the inevitable consolidation
happening in this sector it's highly likely that NITE
will not be a stand-alone co. for too long. Everyone is
scrambling for marketmaker access, esp. since Datek
showed how potentially profitable it can be to own your
own ecn and work these cash machine online brokerages to
the hilt from every angle. EGRP and Goldman have to put their growing piles of new capital to work buying something.

The Glass-Steagall revisions currently under consideration by the feds are
more handwriting on the wall as far as I'm concerned, as
is Softbank's recent acquisition of a large stake of
Optimark. If you swallow this scenario you might want
to put some MHMY in your basket, as they are as ripe for
the picking as NITE, in the bargain basement range.
