Well, let's see, shall I give you a noogie or a wedgie?;^)
It looks nice out, gorgeous green on all the trees, and beautiful bright sunlight, but I know that it's too hot for comfort. I am embarrassed to admit that I have been obsessing on the price of the new house, and the County's public tax records, which lists a lot of information about houses, has drawn me like a moth to the flame. You can punch in street addresses, or even just a street name, and you get the name of the owners, the assessed value, the last two sales prices, the size of the lot, the size of the house, the number of rooms, whether it has a deck or a pool, all kinds of stuff, and I've been trying to figure out whether we paid too much.
Housing prices took a big jump in the past few months, so if I go by last year, it's way too much, if I go by this year, it looks about right. Anyway, there's nothing new on the market, so this was kind of it. Either this or wait for something else and compete with everyone else for it. I guess if it's way too much, the appraisal will come in too low for our loan, and then the sale won't go through.
So now I am waiting for the owner to finish the work so we can have the home inspection and the appraisal. I drove by there yesterday and no one was working. It was locked up, but I could see that the carport is still a carport, not a two-car garage. Think I'll drive by again now, and if there's still no one working, I'm gonna bitch. |
