<Intel will not stake her future on an untested design>. Of course, this is the ultimate answer to Rambus. The engineers who have been designing and fine-tuning this technology for years know its capabilities and shortcomings better than anyone. At no time in the past three years of such intensive scrutiny has Intel waivered from its support. No rational company would do that, and Intel is one of the most rational companies I have ever run across. Someday the onion will be peeled away and all the results of these internal tests and discoveries will be revealed. I, for one, bet there are some tremendous surprises which will be disclosed.
