PARTIALLY based on race. It also recognizes the legitimacy of conversion. So even given that a large fraction of modern Jews are converts, if they are not Jews, then very few modern Christians are Christians.

And the use of the word "race" here is misleading. This is like Hitler claiming that the Germans are a distinct race. Justifying either Germans or Jews as a distinct race will result in you wrapping yourself around your own arguments.
