That's what I said: "I'll never go through that a second time!" Yet I did.

Why do women go through childbirth a second, a third, a fourth, even a fifth etc. time? I've wondered about that. My conclusion is that selective amnesia is at work here. We often completely block out unpleasant experiences, or at least the unpleasant side of what otherwise are positive experiences.

Otherwise, there is no accounting for it. <g>

On a more serious note, I have read studies that argue that women, as a group, bear pain -- any pain -- better (or at least more uncomplainingly) than men do. But I can't cite a specific source.
