Bald Man:

I consider myself a good student(of investing & other topics) and am doing quite well.
1. Long on BRCM, bought several months ago at 60 when it split and it's hovering between 135 - 140. Would've bought before split but gotta keep on budget. Ahead by over 100%.
2. Long on EGRP, bought at 40 in Feb. when the now-famous crashes happened, split in May, tripled at 135 but didn't sell. Now it vacillates between 39 - 40. Ahead by 100%.
3. Long on BBY, bought at 50 several months ago after it split, now it's between 77 - 80. Ahead by over 50%.

Not bad for a novice!

My rule of thumb is if I have to sell, I sell losers but take no more than 10-15% loss and write off of taxes.

Also, have options from my employer - Pfizer, Inc - but can't exercise them until next year.

I've been trading since Oct. '98. Have two online brokerage accounts: Quick&Reilly (www.quickwaynet.com) and Waterhouse Securities (www.waterhouse.com). Quite satisfied with both.
