it sounds like you're just re-inserting
the CD into the Yamaha itself.

Right..Plextor

This is strictly CD-R media

I'll try cd-r media to see if there's a difference.

For scripting backups

For now, I'm happy with a daily Backup Exec onto rotated hdd and manual cd archives. Backup Exec supports cd destinations but I haven't looked into it.

Why my Direct CD is not working is just bugging me a little bit as I don't really need it currently. I remain of the opinion that I'm just unaware of some sort of simple procedural thing. Adaptec email support says this is an OEM copy that it doesn't support and PLextor doesn't answer the support line or email<ggg>
classic situation thats almost amusing since its an academic problem for me. If I really needed the sw I 'm sure I wouldn't be so cool.

Winzip

Haven't look at Winzip yet either. Will get around to it sooner or later.

I don't know of any reason at all to use CD-Direct
rather than Easy CD Creator other than personal
preference.

ok.. thats what I thought. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
