Don't discount the messagemedia.io domain. It is fairly complicated but very interesting. It appears to be at the hub nexus for that part of the world; ie, a way to link Europe and the US to Japan and Australia without going through Russia or China. Here are the primary and secondary servers for messagemedia.io. Remember, these servers represent physical links, as in underwater cable, satellites also may be involved.
io nameserver = AUTH02.NS.UU.NET io nameserver = MUNNARI.OZ.AU io nameserver = NS.EU.NET io nameserver = NS.NIC.io io nameserver = NS.RIPE.NET io nameserver = NS2.UUCP.NE.JP io nameserver = ns2.NIC.io messagemedia.io canonical name = www2.io.io
IMHO, the primary name server (NS.NIC.IO) for messagemedia.io is in Diego Garcia (Britian Indian Ocean Territory). OK, so where in the world is Diego Garcia? Try this...
infoplease.com
The owner of the .io domain is Cable and Wireless -- ring any bells. Anyway, C&W has an extensive global network...
cwplc.com
The secondary name servers suggests direct physical links with, looks like NATO, but isn't...
1) United States - AUTH02.NS.UU.NET - owner: UUNET Technologies
2) Australia - MUNNARI.OZ.AU - owner: ???
3) Netherlands - NS.EU.NET - owner: EUnet Ltd - NS.RIPE.NET - owner: Reseaux IP Europeens
4) Japan NS2.UUCP.NE.JP - owner: ??? some company in Tokyo
5) Great Britian - Recall Cable and Wireless.
As I said, this was the one I was looking for. In short, it appears Messagemedia will use the .io domain to serve Japan, Australia and others. One thing certain, it has a lot of bandwidth at its disposal.
Bottom Line - messagemedia.io is very important to building out Messagemedia and achieving global access.
I trust you appreciate the kind of scale Messagemedia is thinking. Indeed, finding this domain is significant.
BTW, Sure glad I don't have to tweak this network !
