I assume you read them in the original? I did start with Plato and Herodotus, but never got into Homer, and before too long got involved in New Testament Greek, which helps not at all with the ancients. And I never read enough to get a sense of writing style. So I really can't comment on their styles.

If by chance you're speaking of their style in translation, that's a totally different thing. But I assume you read Greek.

I'm off to bed and won't be back for a few days (leaving very early tomorrow for two days) so will have to postpone further comment until I get back.
