In 7/5 issue of Forbes, Son-san was asked, "Are internet stocks a bubble?", to which he replied, "Short term they will have ups and downs, but long term the internet will expand its reach and stocks will go only one direction--UP. Look at the math. Right now the inet industry market cap is only 10% of the PC industry. But when I ask audiences whether they think there is a bubble in inet stocks, 70% say yes. If I then ask whether the inet or PC industry will have bigger market cap in 10 years, almost everyone says the Inet will. Name another industry where you can close your eyes and be almost certain that in 10 years it will be at least 10 times larger. Autos? Will people drink 10x as much Coca Cola or watch 10x more disney cartoons? Inet is safest bet around."

Son assumed that there will be winners and losers within the inet sector. He has the pick of the litter as thousands of prospects are offered to him and he selects only a few of them for Softbank portfolio. Softbank has made a few mistakes but his winners more than carry his losers.

GE, a significant owner of MSGI stocks, went 1 cents above estimate which is a great achievement. GE is involved in a lot of inets; it along w/its NBC has 9.9% joint ownership of TSCN. It has been in Asia buying up companies over there at rock bottom prices. With Welch, GE never stands still...its always on the move. "You control your own destiny, or others will control it." The last I looked there were still 2 GE execs on MSGI board, although I thought someone mention that they were reducing it to 1 GE representative.
