The WIND vs MSFT issue has been debated here so many times here that a non software geek like myself am convinced that MSFT is not a direct threat. After all, do I really need the bloated CE in my toaster?

Also from a totally layman's point of view, MSFT has never had any success innovating anything. There forte is steal or copy, and is only successful if their monopolistic power is a factor. In this case, I think CE is a burden, rather than an asset.

Regarding Red Herring, I find their cost staggering for the general quality of their articles and have never considered them more or less valuable than something like Money Magazine.

In the mean time, how about this guy as CEO?
