Unify plans software development in India; considers acquisitions

Unify Corp, US$30mn US-based software company, is looking forward to locate its software development center in India. This apart, it is planning to acquire companies in India and has set aside US$12mn. The company specializes in e-commerce and tools that integrate diverse databases from Oracle, Sybase, Informix etc and is primarily aiming to acquire e-business technologies across the world. Annually, the company spends 25% of its revenues on R&D.

The company recently launched ‘VISION' software in India. ‘VISION' will be marketed by Unify Corp (India), a division of the Delhi based AKS Software, which also holds the marketing rights for South Asian countries. Last year, the worldwide launch of ‘VISION' led to a mammoth 800% increase in the value of the stock on Wall Street. In the current year the company is expecting sales of ‘VISION' to be around US$15mn.
