LOL, JLA, in hundreds of your posts, I've never seen you see things any way but black and white.

One example only, marital fidelity. My wife believes this alone overrides all other considerations. I disagree in two ways. First, it is not unrealistic for a person to hold the genuine belief, differing from mainstream, that intercourse is the Action that defines sex. It is also not without historical, and practical supports. More to my understanding is that BC has a disorder that makes illicit sex overwhelming. He was never treated for it, and in this climate, fewer will be. This compulsion is on a level of self-survival. Only species survival compares so unrelentingly. Measured [and worse] doses of 'light', meaningless sex is a compromise solution between self-destruction and societal disapproval. One point of this view, is that his sex did not conflict at all with the 'real' bonds of marriage. Sex was a therapeutic hobby, without deeper emotional overtones. Hillary was disapointed, feared discovery, but was resigned.

Do I understand this behavior? No. Do I identify with the irrational compulsion? Yes. Even a perfectly normal, boring person feels of them when sleep deprivation sets in.
