Cash production costs were $206 per ounce in 1998, a 6 percent decrease from the $218 per ounce
experienced during 1997.

Despite the decrease in production and the realized price of gold, the company posted a strong cash
flow from operations of $9.3 million. The current year operating cash flow represents decrease from the
$12.1 million of cash flow from operations in the prior year. The company again ended the year in a
strong financial position with working capital of $34.4 million, including cash of $26.2 million. The
company remains debt free.
