I don't deify analyst reports; I put them on the same level as any other hack with an opinion about the market. They just dress up their reports in BIG IMPORTANT NAMES AND TITLES. The British royal family has been doing it for generations and making millions. So has Wall Street. What's the difference between an analyst and a financial journalist? They look at a stock and they write for an audience. Big deal. A major firm will forget a recommendation faster than you forget what you had for lunch yesterday. Did anybody downgrade Waste Management before it crashed? Individual mutual fund holders ultimately lost MILLIONS in just a few minutes.
