Obviously a lot of people missed SOMETHING.
Sales had been moving up sequentially very nicely for 13 quarters.
Last quarter was (I believe), the first quarter where earnings were
not sequentially higher. This is how the analysts explained the
drop from the 70's to the 40's. ... the momentum mutual funds by
prospectus only own companies that post sequentially higher earnings
each quarter. When a company slips, they sell.

The BIG signal I personally missed was insider action. In the last 6 months there have been 10 reported insider transactions...all sells.*
(*Source= S&P MarketGuide). Someone on this thread has stated insiders own 40% of the company. Per the S&P MArketGuide, as of 3/31/99 that number was 24%. (Thus, part of the basis for the flurry of litigation against the company .)

Everything that had been posted up until "the bomb" was dropped
had been rosy, IMO. I'm no analyst, not even a lawyer or a CPA.
I can read the news, go to the company website & see what is there
and read the consensus estimates posted at places such as YAHOO!
quotes.

Naturally, the questions that remain are :"What else do they know that they aren't saying?"

Again, other than the facts stated & reference sources given, everything else is just my opinion......which if my opinion is
only as good as my stock picking, it ain't worth a lot!

Still long NEON and still very confused.
