Languages and Economics and a global ECNC. My Lord Ernie, Your mastery of La Lingua Franca (which is no longer the lingua franca) is far greater than mine. I do love languages, however, and have studied Latin and Greek along with a smattering of French, Italian and Spanish. Adam Smith is his WEALTH OF NATIONS predicted that the universal language of the day is determined by the country with the strongest economy. Is it for this reason that English now seems to rule? We better find out, because I had an interesting discussion with Gerry Gay this past Wednesday. Gerry sees Tom's ECNC venture in totally global terms. From Costa Rica to Mexico to Australia to Austria, e-commerce and the transportation of money is needed on all four corners of this globe (I never really believed a globe has corners - but who cares) - the bottom line is that we are going global and the 21st century is ours. Monsieur le Rangeur, Prefetto di Muro Strada, Ranger Of Wall Street aka plain old Manny :-)
