Might not seem like much, but weed detection is a multi million (or larger) business. They affect the crops' profit potential.The government (state and local) has weed eradication programs in which they fine the people that do not remove the weeds. This entails sending specialists out in the field to scout for weeds..that costs a lot of money and they miss a lot. A fly over would probably be a lot cheaper and probably cover the territory better.
As an adjunct to the weed detection, EDIS could gather and sell soil compaction and irrigation needs data as well as data estimating the overall crop potential.
