Redundancy - Given the Diego Garcia domain more thought, it occurs the purpose of this domain may be just that - REDUNDANCY. Some may think of it a s mirror.

Consider a primary server goes down. If Messagemedia can't get the mail out because of a disruption of service, it stands to loose not only money but clients.

Of course nobody's ever been shut out of E-trade or Ebay so I don't expect they'd know what I'm talking about.
