When I first built the fence I borrowed an IH 400 and a post hole digger. It wouldn't even start to go in. My ground is fill from 50 feet down when they put in the I74 bypass. Rock and clay. Red clay, blue clay and river rock. That cooks into concrete.

Just plain old red clay is bad enough, say brick when it dries? Swing a pick 4 times and get a tablespoon full out. Ain't this fun?

Now an International 540 has down pressure on the 3 point and can make an auger work. But I have only a few to do so I'm waiting for rain. Yep, it's heavier but at least it comes out.
