What amazed me that the car was hit from behind (while stopped at a red light) by a drunk guy going 70mph. Hardly a surprise that the gas tank went off. If the guy had been going 20 I would say sure, nail 'em, a car should be able to take that - though even then 4.7 billion might seem a bit much. But at 70, who do you blame, the people who made the car that was hit or the guy who hit it. Of course the guy who hit it has no money, which settles that issue.

I wonder how much the lawyers will get, if ever they collect....
