Fisherman1: Do you have a link to that fc conference? I know that I can't make it, but maybe I can talk someone I know in that area into going?
I think it is a good move to own ERC if you own MKTY because of the leverage involved. ERC has lagged other fc companies in the market because until now it has not tried to get any high profile partners into the act - it has been perfecting its technology on its own, thank you. As a result it only has a little more than 4 million shares outstanding, and has a market cap at a big discount to all the R&D money that was spent to develop its type of fc technology (which it dominates, unlike the PEM fc technology, with many capable competitors.)
If, as I think could happen over the next year or so, things happen (like big partners, large orders, etc.) that let people realize that ERC is the most likely to succeed of the various fc companies, then if it were to get a market cap even just equal to a conservative estimate of Plug Power's market cap of $1 billion (MKTY/0.34), then ERC's stock would be worth over $200 per share. That is enough of a move from its present price in the teens to overcome any possible decline in MKTY. If MKTY goes up too, that is fine, but its market cap is presently 15 times that of ERC, and its chances of success are certainly no better. |
