Given the seeming logic,

that AIDSVAX will protect humans from the virus, are the accepted biological reasons that the AIDSVAX will not protect humans?

That is, are there cases where humans and some other animal specie are affected by the same virus, the other animals are protected by the vaccine, the humans develop neutralizing antibodies but yet, the humans are not protected by the vaccine?

I am an economist, not biologist, so I can see the logic but have no idea of the reasons the seeming logical conclusions will not follow.
