Caprich's response shows the math perfectly. The 50% retracement is 50% of the runup, not 50% of the entire stock price...

There's always the possibility of more downside. The range for retracements is usually 38.2-61.8%, but I often see bounces right around 50%. I think a lot of TA traders use 50% as a buying opportunity, and with the chance for people to use the weekend to research, I'd be surprised if there is much more downside.

Even if you don't believe in TA, there are others who do and use it to make trading decisions. It's best to take advantage of this information...
