PB, The non-x86 side of Intel investment is the best reason I have heard to invest in it in a while. As for Intel vs. 3Com, the 2 seem to be pretty much a wash in the NIC market (although I prefer the 3com drivers to the Intel etherxpress drivers). When you get into serious netowrking though, Intel doesn't have the big (I mean big) switches like 3com's corebuilder. Steve
