System buildout: A couple of questions. I understand that WAVC will sell their products to ISP's. I am trying to understand how the system will operate, in comparison to MCOM. MCOM with their $600MM capital infusion will build out city by city by installing radio transceivers on lightpoles spaced about every 1/4-1/2 mile apart. The WAVC Millenium modem will connect with a "base station" called a Communication Access Point (CAP). My questions are:
1. Are these CAP's similar to MCOM or are they a singular centrally positioned unit (i.e-at the ISP office)? (one per city?)
2. MCOM is described as a mobile, 70mph system. WAVC is described as a product for the home or office. Is there a difference in the portability/mobility issue?
Thanks for the help if you can provide it. I'm not a techie--just trying to figure out where to invest in this arena without putting it into some of the big names like QCOM, MOT, etc.
