Warren Buffett never owns more than 6(or is it 9) stocks at once so he can really know what he has. I have adopted this rule (9) so while I love to read about all the plays I study the best ones in detail. It forces you to do comparative shopping. This approach is not for everyone but then Warren Buffett is the most successful investor alive today so it may not be a bad approach. The ans to your question about the central bank sale is that last falls Dutch cental bank sales were 300 tons which represents one tenth of one day's global trading. Last weeks announcement of a 400 ton sale over 10 years by Swiss banks is meaningless except as propaganda when you consider that bullion trading worldwide is three to five times what trades in London per day (and that latter amount is 10 billion dollars!)
