Boy oh boy, this is a whopper this time! Did you not understand that because of the sec investigation, MSFT's reported earnings could SKYROCKET, so the price moved UP on this news? It wasn't about the way that all these tech companies are recognizing options or acquisition costs, it was about the deferred revenue model MSFT uses to smooth out earnings. The model has smoothed e out alright, at the cost of depressing e and creating a backlog of revenue to tap into. MSFT is much more profitable than they show, IF WE ACCEPT THE CURRENT WIDE SPREAD WAY OPTIONS ARE RECOGNIZED.
