Antarctica has HUGE resources under the ice. Any intelligent group with technology that booted the scientists out of there and took over could, in less than a generation, mount a war to capture the southern hemisphere. After consolidation, they could then launch massive space platforms using Equatorial laser launch pads and from this ultimate high ground force the entire northern hemisphere to capitulate. At that time they would truly be Masters of the World and what Hitler dreamed of would be reality.
