So you're looking to have a subset of a thread, or a subset of multiple threads with particularly good items you've seen about the subject in question?

Why not just start a new thread and do the same thing? You could include one or more posts each containing one or more links to the topic of choice. You could even annotate them with introductions.

Would you be the only one to be able to add to this sub-thread or would it be open to everyone? If open, it sounds even more like just a new thread, because you can't maintain any control over the quality of the inclusions. If it's restricted to only your posts (i.e., your selected links to quality posts by others) then how will people find it? Will every thread poster be able to have their own version of thread XYZ's best posts?

I think you need to work on this idea more.
