Technocrat - First: excellent post, one of the best I have ever seen. Second: I firmly believe that some vendors will attempt to push storage fabric logic to the switch while others will attempt to retain it within the storage sub-system. By you comments it appears that brocade is pursuing the first path while Ancor may support the second. If this were to happen, I have a hard time buying into the idea that the switches will be interchangable or even interoperable which leads me to belive single sourcing may become the norm. Thoughts welcome. Thanks john
