I didn't imply you were either (liberal or conservative) James. I did imply that you agreed with me that "repealing the marriage penalty" is a loaded term, in that it implies there is a penalty (when there really isn't - or at best its debatable) and is an effort at social engineering with the tax code.

Fwiw I don't consider myself to be liberal, although I am frequently labelled as that by some here.
