My point was only that I don't believe 'men' are more competitive than 'women' quantitatively, but only in types and styles of competitiveness; and I do believe that difference is sexually based.

Your original post seemed to take the position that 'men' were more competitive than 'women'; but I think now that you in fact agree that the difference is in style, not degree.

But on this thread, I haven't even seen a difference in style, very much, (dropping off the ends of the curves the two posters whom I mentioned!) I think there are a number of women posters here who don't show any notable drive for harmony or any notable aversion for conflict.

I certainly haven't noticed 'men' being more rude or angry or short-fused or personally insulting or unkind than 'women,' here, for example; and behaviors manifesting those qualities can be taken as indices of high tolerance for disharmony and conflict. JMHO

(I think the hard-edge women are one of the reasons this thread is interesting and I keep reading it, I might mention.)
