<<I don't recall the specifics, but the researchers said this extra width allowed women to use both hemispheres in the brain simultaneously while men could only use one hemisphere at a time.>>
Ah, laughing out loud, really!! This explains SO much.
Last night our dear old Volvo broke down while we were going up a very steep hill. Usually as reliable as the tank it is, it simply totally and finally died, and could not be restarted. Now I was concerned about the car, but really, having a cell phone and a credit card, we were able to call a tow truck and then a cab, so we were in no real danger or even discomfort. We had just stopped at World Wrapps and were on our way home with delicious rice bowls, so my daughter and I stood under a very nice tree in front of a row of old Victorian houses and enjoyed the food, the sunset, brief kind gestures of assistance from area residents, and a philosophical discussion about witchcraft. My husband paced back and forth beside the car in a proprietary way, let his food get cold and could focus on nothing but the car. If a real witch had ridden right across the sky on the archetypal broomstick, he would have been oblivious! |
