Fred - Re: "another reason to upgrade your CPU I recently entered the world of cable modem access"

I hear ya !

TCI - my cable provider - has been promising me cable modem access every day now - since 1995 !

Your comments about the PC power limiting the performance once you get high speed bandwidth is GOOD CONFIRMATION of what Intel has been PUSING for the last 3 or 4 years.

As more and more homes get cable modem capability, the NEED FOR NEW high speed PCs will accelerate.

As for home networks, YES - they are great !

I installed an Intel anyPOINT system a couple of months ago and, just like you, I use the network to link my Sony notebook to the MAIN DESKTOP, printers and Internet (56K Modem). Now, both my son and I can be using the Internet at the same time !

I'm still waiting for the cable speed, but in the meantime...

Paul
