That is a patently ridiculous statement. Equivilant to your last mile theories etc. You can have all the fiber you want. But, if you don't have a backbone, pops (points of presence) gateways and favorable termination agreements in place in most foreign countries. You have nothing.

Why do you think the major telecon companies are ALL running their calls through IDT RIGHT NOW.

Most of them have confidentiality agreements. But I'll give you an example. Go to this Sprint Site right now: net2phone.com

Call the 800 number and ask them if this is not VOIP service really provided by net2phone and IDT

Now, Sprint has tons of fiber. Why do you think they have to use IDT?
