It won't take us long to determine when we are getting false and misleading information. Unfortunately knowing where to place the blame can be more difficult. I have on many occasions talked to CEO's of various companies and came away convinced that something big was about to happen.

CEO's have to be by the very nature of their jobs the biggest supporters of their own stock and therefore their own interests.

Having had those conversations has led me to believe that further stock gains were virtually assured. Unfortunately such has not proved to be the case. I can be a very persuasive writer, and as such my beliefs, based on what I had been told have led me, and perhaps many others, to losses we should not otherwise have incurred.

This is why I like this format. Bring me your stock picks, share your due diligence. This is a format that can focus attention on the stock and still give us enough time to do some due diligence. The most important thing to remember here is that you should not risk any money that you cannot afford to lose because these stocks can and will be volatile. That will be true no matter how solid the due diligence or how honest the posters may be.

Thanks, Jeff
