I agree with you. PNCL isn't the only player in this market. Look at the 650 MB Dual Phase drives (I believe it's Magneto Optical) that ships with Compaq computers. I don't believe it's coming from PNCL. It's not exactly the same as the PNCL's optical drive but it's getting their in capacity and price. There are also plenty of Japanese companies in this game.

I think it PNCL might be a good one to ride for a short periods for quick cash if you time it right.
