Am I dreaming? Anyone else see this news? It looks like a gorilla has just joined the grocery delivery business, and a refreshing, unlikely gorilla at that.
This is stunning news, as I never, ever thought it could be profitable given the obstacles. How are they going to handle the perishables? And the change in consumer habits... I can't feel and smell the fruit, see the meat, squeeze the bread...
And Bechtel???? If this most un-internet but respected industrial titan thinks that it is profitable to delivery groceries to your home, then my last, residual, inkling doubts about the scope of the internet as a "gold-rush" as a "fad", with Wall Street taking advantage of the average Joe... those doubts are gone.
I mean, where are the brakes on this thing? Kinda scary...
And I thought I my opinions regarding the future of the internet bordered on hypnotic... jeez!
